Is this event fully accessible?

Yes, the event village, routes and facilities have been planned in collaboration with, and approved by, The Richard Whitehead Foundation, a charity specialising in disability sport. There will also be accessible portable toilet facilities around the course, alongside the public toilets located at ///buddy.hook.goat. Should you require any specific support please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us via [email protected].

How much does a Support Runner cost?

It’s free! It won’t cost you a penny to have someone support you on the day.

Is this event chip timed?

Yes, this event is chip timed and accurately measured.

What is the minimum age to enter an event?

5k = 11 years old
2k = any age
Anyone under the age of 11 will receive a child’s race number/bib with a ‘wristband’ included in their race pack. The number on the wristband will match the number on the child’s race bib. The wristband is to be worn by the child’s accompanying adult so that the child can be safely repatriated after completing the race in the event that they are running the 2k race on their own.

We recommend that any child aged 10 or under runs with an adult.

Can I enter more than one person at once?

Yes, you will enter the details for each runner at checkout.

When do entries close before an event? Can I enter on the day?

Entries will typically close when the event sells out or on Thursday 12th September 2024 before the event. Entries on the day are dependent on the capacity for the event.

I can't make the event, can I have a refund?

Sorry, we don’t offer refunds. The cost of each ticket is however a donation to The Richard Whitehead Foundation.

When will I receive more information about the event?

You will receive all race information, via email, in the week leading up to the event by Wednesday 11the September 2024.

Do we collect our Timing Chip and Race Number on the day of the event?

Yes, you will be assigned you race number on the day of the event. Make your way to the registration desks to collect them. Your timing chip is attached to your race number, along with your bag tag.

Are there water stations?

Yes, a water station will be located just before Bridge 5, before the ArcelorMittal Orbit, for both the 5K and 2K.

Do you have a baggage drop? Do you charge for it?

Yes we will have a baggage drop, and it is FREE to use. We have a member of staff managing the station while you run. You will find a detachable bag tag on your Race Number to attach to your bag with your Race Number on it.

What do I get at the end of the race?

You can help yourself to water and our snacks when you finish. You will also receive a medal!

Where can I find my results after the event?

Your results will be available at runtothefuture.co.uk/results following your run. If you have any questions or queries with your results please email [email protected].

Am I allowed to wear headphones?

We’d strongly advise against it – the nature of the events means that you need to be aware of your surroundings and be able to hear marshals instructions. If you feel more comfortable wearing noise cancelling headphones then you are more than welcome to wear Ear Defenders.

Is this event an official running event?

This run is licensed by The Association of Running Clubs (ARC). The course has been officially measured by the Association of UK Course Measurers and a copy of the measurement certificate will be on display at the information desk. Can I run with a dog or a buggy?

You are welcome to run with a buggy, but not a dog – with the exceptions of guide dogs.
